One port, two terminals and three marinas

Ibiza port has two arrival points that people mix up. The big ferries from the mainland and Mallorca, Baleària and Trasmed from Dénia, Valencia, Barcelona and Palma, dock at the Botafoc terminal, the Estación Marítima at the end of the breakwater past Marina Botafoc, where the cruise ships also tie up. The Formentera boats (Baleària, Trasmapi, Aquabus) leave from and arrive at the Ibiza–Formentera terminal on Avinguda de Santa Eulària, a short walk from the centre and La Marina. Between the two there are about 2 kilometres of harbourside, with Marina Ibiza in the middle and Ibiza Magna facing Dalt Vila. Which one you are arriving at is the first thing we will ask.

Arriving by ferry from the mainland

At Botafoc, foot passengers come out through the terminal building and drivers roll down the ramp straight onto the breakwater road. We wait at the terminal exit (or, if you have a car, in the car park beside the terminal) with a sign showing your name, tag the bags and send you a photo. If you are collecting a hire car or taking a taxi, you leave light; if you have driven over with the car packed to the roof, we can take what does not fit, or whatever you do not want to haul up the steps of Dalt Vila.

Arriving from Formentera

The Ibiza–Formentera terminal is on Avinguda de Santa Eulària, with a taxi rank about 150 metres away on Avinguda de Bartomeu Rosselló and the number 10 airport bus stopping 50 metres from the door. In season there is a boat every half hour and the pavement fills with suitcases. We wait at the building exit, next to the ticket windows, and within ten minutes your bags are on their way to Talamanca, Figueretes, a villa in Santa Eulària or the boat waiting for you in Marina Ibiza. If your plan is the reverse, disembark and fly the same day, we take them to the airport departures area at a time you choose.

When your destination is a boat

Half the bags we move at the port end up on board. In Marina Botafoc, Marina Ibiza and Ibiza Magna we deliver to the pontoon when the marina staff let us through with your authorisation, or to the marina office if you would rather collect them yourself. We need the boat name, the pontoon or berth and the skipper's or a crew member's phone. For boats anchored off Talamanca or Platja d'en Bossa, we agree a boarding point with your tender.

Summer at the port

From June to September the Botafoc road is slow whenever a ferry and a cruise ship coincide, mainly 09:00–11:00 and early evening, and it is closed to traffic at night for the clubs along the promenade. At the Formentera terminal the peaks are 10:00–12:00 outbound and 18:00–20:00 on the way back. We already build this into the time we confirm: you just tell us the company, the departure port and the scheduled arrival, and we track the real arrival on the port's and the ferry company's sites.

What we need to confirm

Ferry company and route (for example Baleària from Dénia, or Trasmapi from La Savina), date and scheduled arrival; on foot or with a car; number and type of bags; the name for the tags; destination with a pin, a reference and a contact person; and your phone for WhatsApp. For a departure, the pickup time at your accommodation and your boarding time.
